OUT OF MANY,
ONE PEOPLE
In late 2019 following an extended period of research and planning by a small team of professional Jamaicans in the USA, the Jamaican Museum and Cultural Center, Inc. (JMCC) organization was established in Atlanta, GA and granted non-profit 501 tax exemption status by the Internal Revenue Service.
Planning team members serve voluntarily as initial directors bringing a wealth of experience from corporate, academic and non-profit sectors, Most are actively involved in other Jamaican organizations including; The Atlanta Jamaican Association, Inc. (AJA), The National Association of Jamaican & Supportive Organizations, Inc. (NAJASO), Jamaican Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta (JAMCHAM) and various Jamaican Alumni Associations.
Work is underway to garner financial support and resources to build and operate a purpose built museum and cultural center.

Preserving 0ur History and Culture
The directors are exploring opportunities for partnerships, collaborations and other support with philanthropic organizations and individuals. They are reaching out to academic institutions in Atlanta; Jamaican organizations in the diaspora, the Jamaican government, cultural institutions and corporations; the City of Atlanta;
and other entities. It is very fitting that the JMCC will be located in metro Atlanta, a city with a rich civil rights legacy; the principal trade and transportation center for the South-eastern United States; a mecca for immigrants from all
over the. Caribbean and African diaspora. It is a major higher educational center and home to more than 25 Fortune 500 and 1000 corporations and more than 5 of the top 20 national non-profit organizations.
